Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout-Tagout)

Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout-Tagout)

  • Legislation and/or Regulation:

During maintenance, servicing and repair, energy sources must be disconnected, de-

energized, then locked-out and/or tagged-out. This ensures that inadvertent operation cannot occur, and no residual energy remains. A Lockout-Tagout plan must be developed and maintained for all covered equipment and systems. Staff must also be trained and proper records kept.

What the SRM Service can do to help:

 Training and Workshops:

  • Lockout-Tagout Training
    • We can provide training to your staff on proper Lockout-Tagout procedures.

  • Assistance in developing a written Lockout-Tagout program.
  • Performing an inventory of equipment/systems requiring LOTO and assistance developing procedures for de-energizing those systems.
  • Helping to set up a procedure for documentation and compliance with OSHA regulation.
